Mad About Pens

Check Zandbroz Vintage (our Etsy site) and you will notice we have added lots of vintage writing instruments. Most of these pens were made by one of the numerous pen companies that prospered in the early twentieth century. Esterbrook, Wearever, and Eversharp are fairly well known names and then there are countless others; Eagle, Moore, Imperial, Majestic, Standard, Frank, Wahl, Conklin, Stylo, Good Service…to name but a few. These were the bargain priced pens of the day; but many of them were well crafted instruments that have a quality not found these days. We look for pens that have some character and are in good enough condition to be restored.

We have tried to present an interesting selection of some of our finds accumulated over the past year or two. We price them modestly in hopes that they will be used, and appreciated. In this age of computers it’s refreshing to feel the pen and dance of wet ink on the page.

A note about using vintage fountain pens. Most of the pens we are offering are from the 30’s and 40’s; some even earlier than that. They have had their fill and feed system repaired and checked. We encourage you to use them. They aren’t meant to be thrown into a bag or pocket to rattle around. They should be stored upright when filled with ink and rinsed clean when they won’t be used for awhile. Remember it is an antique so treat it gently and it will serve you for years.
